Australia for Animal Friendly Therapy - No Bear Bile here!

A Recent story on the ABC's 7:30 report  highlighted a barbaric practice for harvesting bear bile.  It is quite disturbing so I don't recommend you look for it if you are easily affected by images of cruelty to animals.

Good news is that this practice is become more and more rare.

The report points to Chinese Medicine as being a culprit for why these animals are being treated so, whilst this may be true in some parts of the world, it is certainly not true for any legitimate practice in Australia.

Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association released a media release explaining that in Australia Chinese Medicine has become quite highly regulated.  All herbal supplements are constantly inspected for heavy metals, pesticides, toxins, restricted substances and endangered species (or products potentially derived from endangered species).

So it is again important to see a qualified practitioner to make sure you are getting safe, effective and animal friendly therapy.

At Be Smart Get Supple the Chinese Medicine Doctor, Brendon Supple, was fortunate enough to be trained by a professor in herbal medicine that believed that all animal products were able to be replaced but herbal or mineral substitutes, often to a better effect.

Be Smart Get Supple stocks only Sun Herbal Chinese Medicine Products for herbal treatment.  They contain no animal products of any kind  and complies with the international CITES regulation that outlaws the use of any plant or animals that are considered endangered species!
