Happy New Year 2019

Happy New Year 2019

From all at Be Smart Get Supple

New years eve is here again.
This year why not begin it feeling amazing.

  • 5 Simple  things to help your new year start with a bang
    • Drink in moderation on new years eve
      • A new year doesn't remove the consequences of a binge session, or the things you do under the influence
    • Sleep at a reasonable hour
      • Stay up until midnight to see the fireworks, but don't over do it. Starting a new year exhausted already puts you in a place that is harder to feel good and put your resolutions into action
    • Start January 1 with a good breakfast and a nice walk
      • A good meal and light walk is good for your health, both physical and mental.
    • Be kind on yourself when assessing what you achieved over the last year
      • If you hit your goals, awesome, if not, don't berate yourself accept your humanity and allow yourself to learn from what didn't go so well. You can always start again.
    • Be realistic with what you will do in the coming year
      • Making unachievable resolutions  will only make you feel like a failure before you begin, not only that it often leads to problems.
      • If you plan to exercise more and haven't for a long time, don't resolve to exercise an hour a day, you will probably just hurt yourself.  So aim to do gentle exercise a few days a week or a few minutes each day and work up. Aim to exercise daily by the end of six months.
      • Get advice be it diet, exercise, mental health, work, personal projects just ask someone who is well qualified.

We all hope you have a happy and safe new year, and we look forward to helping you reach your health goals in 2019.

A reminder that we will return to normal opening hours on January 7th 2019

Christmas is coming 2018

Happy Christmas from all the Staff at Be Smart Get Supple

Again the year has flown by and Christmas and New Year Festive Season is fast upon us.

The clinic is open right up to Christmas.
The different practitioners have different Last Consulting days this year.
Brendon will work up to and including Friday 2st December.
Rodney will also be working on Monday 21st December from 10 am.

Clinic will be closed Christmas day through to the 6th of January.

Normal Consulting hours resume on January 7th 2019.

Please feel free to leave a message at reception or via our contact page if you call through that time, as although  it may not be answered until after we return.

We hope that you have a lovely time with people special to you during this celebratory season and enjoy the opportunity to reflect on the year past and prepare for the year to come.

We like to remind people that there is more to Christmas than the shopping rush, so some hints to beat the stress this season:
  • Allow time and be patient
    • Things always take longer as shops are crowded and things go wrong
  • Be kind to others, and yourself.
    • Have a nice word to say to those who help us, particularly the retail staff who are overworked
    • Be kind to yourself, things won't always go according to plan so don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up.
  • Exercise
    • Light walking in the sun and vigorous exercise both have benefits for reducing stress and putting life in perspective
  • Volunteer time
    • Put some time into helping others be it a community group or a charity it helps keep life in balance
  • Drink enough water
    • Keeping hydrated helps the body feel better
  • Eat appropriately
    • In the Christmas season it is easy to eat way too much
      • take smaller amounts
      • think about what you are eating and enjoy quality over quantity
  • Find some time to reconnect with people you don't always get to see
    • it is a great excuse to catch up with someone you have lost contact with. At the end of the day the most important things in life are the relationships you cherish not the things you accumulate.
  • Don't make unrealistic New Years resolutions
    • You are not going to change overnight, make a resolution but allow for time to grow into it and maybe seek advice from people who can help you make it happen.

Again we hope you have a restful and restorative Christmas and New Year period and we look forward to assisting you with your health goals for 2019.

For most people Easter is about FREEDOM.

For many Easter has strong Religious meaning of freedom, as Jesus died and rose again to free humanity from the price of sin and allow connection with God.

For others it is a few days of freedom from work, school and normal routines.
